Holistic Thinking at the Chamber of Commerce?

Hi Jedi Mark,

This is the thing... I've changed a lot in the last few years.  I'm holistic minded, alternative, haven't used meds in 30 years, almost vegan, mostly organic and raw.  My beliefs no longer support biased religion.  I believe in, "If it's meant to be it's up to me" thinking.  I don't relate well to the majority of people in our east coast society and probably should be living in some environmentally built home in Seattle WA somewhere working the land with positive like minded folks.  I work with some people all day who are the norm in this area.... hear about all their self brought on illnesses, watch them get sicker and sicker as they follow the advice of their bloated doctors handing them more and more meds, their bodies weak and tired.  It makes no impression if the doc dies a year later of a heart attack.  They still brag to each other about how many different meds and chemicals they're taking (I call it med-status for attention) and they get cancer and diabetes and heart disease and on and on and on.  It's all about keeping folks sick which keeps the drug companies and pharmacies and agri companies in money.  Isn't there something wrong with this picture???  Why don't they get it?  It's so clear what's happening.

Sound pretty callous?  I'm sure some think so.  It breaks my heart to see so many folks getting so sick... people I like, some family, etc.  They just follow each other into the grave... like lemmings...lemming people.

Do I sound like I'm losing it?  A little frustrated?  A lot confused lately!

Mark.... how do I stay positive like you when I think these things and see these things going on?  Tell me how.

I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce... I haven't gone to a meeting yet as I didn't realize it would be that beneficial... figured I probably wouldn't fit in anyway, given my views above.  What do you think?  Should I go?  Would it be helpful?  I sure could use some help about now... in more ways than one, that's for sure.

On a personal note, I'm trying your three techniques tonight - I had a very rough day.   Hope it helps.

Thanks Mark

Martha

Hey Martha,

Great letter! So well put!

The short answer is they are all in trance! As a modern Jedi you task is not to change everybody but to find those who are open to change. My own mother chose radiation and chemotherapy even though my dad could teach post graduate courses on healing cancer with nutrition.

And as her son, being a fairly high level practitioner of techniques that are regularly used for "miracle" cures, I had to let go and honor her choice.

There is something called the reticular activating system in our minds that helps us to choose what to focus on. It affects what we notice. On some level we have to instruct our unconscious minds to stop seeing all the ones who don't get it and focus on noticing and attracting to ourselves those that do "get it".

So that's your practice...letting go of the idea that we could ever help someone who doesn't know they are drowning.

One of my coaches told me once that in life saving courses the life guard is taught
to beware the drowning person. They can pull the life guard down.

So my little Modern Jedi Warrior. Be of good cheer. There are plenty of people out there who do get it...and I've even found many of them in the Chamber of Commerce here in stuffy old, uptight, conservative Connecticut...and it's fun to see who is open to me and "gets" what I do...

You're presence at the Chamber of Commerce could be the reassurance that someone else needs to open up and get the business help he or she needs to grow their holistic business.

Hope that helped...

peace and groovyness, over and out
